Hirschman Antenna Wiring
I just replaced the antenna on my '89 190e 2.6 with a Hirschman antenna. The problem I have is the antenna has three wires and the MB wiring harness has five. The antenna wires are yellow, blue/white and blue/red. I have figured out by trial and much error that the yellow wire is ground. The problem is I can get the antenna to extend but I can't figure out how to make it retract. If anyone can help me with the wiring I will be forever grateful!

Why not go to the Becker board?
http://members4.boardhost.com/beckerboard/ Or just call Becker at (888)423-3537 x 200. I bet they can help you.

Unfortunately, the PO installed a Sony CD radio. I did go to the Hirschmann site and got the wiring for the antenna. I also noticed the original antenna had some relays inside. I'll give Moraine's method a try. Does anyone think I may need to install some kind of relay to make everything work?
