Hello,
I recently changed my head unit and installed a changer. Now whenever I switch on the unit there's a whining sound and this sound increases when I step on the gas progressively. When the unit is on with the car off, there's no whining sound. What could possibly cause this. I've had some people recommending to install a suppressor but this cuts the high freq. Thanks |

Chances are one of the units has a bad ground. My guess would be the changer.
Hope this helps. Yal 88 230e (W124) |

It might be bad resistor tips on your spark plug wires.

Most of the time when I have seen this, the head unit is not using the proper wires for power or there is a sheilding problem. The other two things that I have seen alot of are bad alternators and leaky control units.

Hi
How can bad resistors on the cable cause this too happen. Would yu suggest to re do the wiring and seperate the power and speaker cable? |

Neat and tidy wiring will never hurt !
Try powering your radio from an isolated 12v source (like a another battery). If there is no noise then, its from the power cables. If there is still noise, then you could have a speaker wire shorting out somewhere. Also check your changer is grounded properly!
