After installing an alarm, I have lost my rear speakers. I have checked the connections both at the unit and the drivers, but see no fault. my suspicion is the fader switch on the console. The car is a 190E 16Valve 1986. Also how does the center console come out around the gear shift to check the connection.

Easy to check some bits of it.... pull the fader out and short it to send the signal direct to the rear speakers. ;-)
Dont know about a 190E, but I'd imagine its similar to an E class. Pull the carpet up from the centre console (just grab it), undo the screw. Then remove the plastic ring around the gear selector and it just comes off. Didnt realise the fader was on this bit though! Also, have you got an amp in the car? Its ground may have been disturbed when the alarm was added. Bri ------------------ Brian Drought 1991 300CE http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~drought/ ICQ: 2180069 |
