I have two 12" subs in my trunk. From the outside you really hear my trunk shaking when I turn it up. When the bass is really deep I even hear it from inside my car. I know I can put the foam stuff all over the
inside of my trunk but I want it to look nice.
The main place that is shaking is the area where the star is located on the trunk. There is a big hollow space on the inside where the trunk lights are located. I was wondering if I could somehow fill up that
space with something and thus reduce the vibration. And then put something on the rest of my trunk lid that would stop the shaking. Possible something heavy that would hold it down.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mike

There is a good product that I have used called Noise Stopper. It's a spray, it works really well.

Lots of carpet underlay between the carpet panels and the trunk panels should kill any noise!

You can try dynamat, or a product like noise killer which is basically like spraying cement in your car, their are many products you can use. A combination of both is usually the best idea, dynamat for places that are hidden or places you don't want sprayed, etc, etc.. I am about too put some subs in the back of my c class, I am hoping I will not have the same problem.
good luck

Will getting any of these noise dampners affect the noise inside my car? All I want to do is dampen the noise on the outside.
Wheres the best place to get the sprays or mats?

The dampners will actually make your stereo louder as they are helping to better insulate the car and so not as much sound is lost. You can buy then from basically any car audio store, Rockford Fosgate has a spray, or just order the crutchfield catalog, they have everything.
