'01 E-320 Wagon radio replacement
It's been a slow death of my Bose system in my wagon. It started with the CD changer which had already been replaced two years ago by MB under warranty. Now it stopped playing CD's 6/10. Then during the winter the head unit screen readout died 12/10 and I lived with just radio until Aug. then the radio died. I searched around and decided on Crutchfied for my purchase. Talked with a sales rep about Alpine since I have one in my '93 300E and really like it. I selected, with the help of the tech, the Alphine CDE-122. It arrived in two days. Installed it and had a couple of question along the way so I called the Tech Help line. Discovered that the radio could not hook into the Bose sys. dual amps. To do so required the head unit to have two sets of RCA jacks. This was a mis-step by the sales rep. Crutchfield stepped up to the plate without me saying a word and said they will send the CDE-123 at NO extra cost to me and cover ALL shipping. The correct unit arrived the next day and I had it swapped in in about 15 min. WOW, what a sound difference and great features. Many miles of smile now! Dennis
