MB CD Deck for W210

I have a CD Player that a guy gave me 10 yrs ago that came from a MB car. I found that tonight and if you can believe it the thing fits my wagon. I can find the wire for the power but not the fiber optic cable. There is one in the phone but I do not see one for the CD deck. If I take the one out of the phone and plug it in the deck it works. Should there not be two? One for the phone and one for the deck? Also, I think these were Alpine. Anyone have a part number for a cartridge?

the dealer can get you a magazine by vin, there may be a separate optic cable for the cd changer hidden behind the trunk lining panels, but you will need to get the connector for the changer from the dealer anyway since it is a ring optical network. in other words, if there was a separate connector for the changer it would need to be plugged in or the whole system won't work. so you may find a junction connector where it normally would plug into the changer.

Can you imagine what that magazine would cost at a dealer? I probably could have a custom stereo and NAV installed for what MB would want for that CD mag.

have you traced the optic cables from the phone to see if there are any extra cables?

I have looked for extra cables and cant find any, I cant imagine anything being $20 at a Mercedes dealer, They wanted $11.00 for a small metric bolt to hold the splash pan on my W126

not everything they sell is a rip off; of course, your local dealer may charge more than the dealer i work for. can't hurt to give em a call...
