C280 radio code not working
 

I just picked up a 98 C280. it has a CM2396 cassette radio with a CD changer and Bose speakers. The radio was in code mode when i got it. I found a code on a paper in the glove box. Tried it but it didn't work. I called the dealer and got the same # using the serial # and the Vin #. I enter it 3 time and it locks out. Is there a different # for the changer or am i doing something wrong ?

It's probably been changed. Pull the radio and get the serial number directly off it, then you can get the correct code.

Actually, when you pull it look at it closely, sometimes with older radio swaps sellers put a label on the shell with the code, some even write it on with a sharpie.
