Believe it or not, most Becker head units were designed to operate Becker CD changers! We're talking here about those units that have wired harness for CD changer hook up. The deal that Alpine gives MB is so good that MB tries to sell you a plastic Alpine 6 disk changer that is configured to hook up to your Becker head unit, hmmm! Becker sells a heavy duty, all metal 6 or 10 disk changer that connects directly to the fibre optic cables hidden way back behind the right rear trunk lining. The changer comes with steel brackets that mount in the factory holes. The installation is simple and the cost is much less than the MB/Alpine unit. SW Stereo (800)270-2378 sells all the Becker stuff.

Hello,
I would like to give a couple of quick clairifications to the preceding post. Becker does sell the 2662 Optical CD changer that will work in the new Mercedes. However, it is only a six disk unit. The 10 disk unit is not an optical interface compatible changer. Also, the 2662 does come with mounting brackets, but they do not mount into the factory holes. With minor modifications, they will mount the unit in an appropriate location. This is fairly easy for most people. We also sell the 2662. You will need to e-mail or call us, as Becker has requested that we not list our prices on our web site. ------------------ Scott Brotherton Continental Imports 1219 S.
