Question: Where to mount CD Changer control?

Hey folks,

I've picked up an Alpine CHM-S665RF CD Changer to mount in the '77 240D.

Now the easy part is installing the changer, RF module and such. The difficult part is the controller/user interface panel. I want to do a 'stealth' install and keep everything stock.

I'm thinking that a modification of the ashtray would work well. I'm thinking that I can remove the metal insert where the lighter is and fabricate a mount for the panel inside the ashtray. I don't want to loose the lighter, but that may not be avoidable to keep everything clean looking.

Any thoughts, opinions, rude comments?
