They'll work on your back shelf, but not up front (they're 4" max). Likely you'll need to do no more than perhaps cut away a small amount of metal, depending on the particular speaker you choose.

Good luck!

I personally fit Sony xplode 5 1/4" in the front and 6 1/2" in the rear on my 87 300E. All you have to do is trim a bit of the frame away, but they do fit and sound very nice with a good amp and sub.

It does take a bit of trimming, let me know if you need help. BTW after trimming and putting covers back on, the car looks 100% stock so no theft worries.

Spinedoc:
When you say that the Sony Xplode 5 1/4 fit in front and 6 1/2 in back with just a little frame trimming, do you mean the speaker frames, or the dash. Also, which model xplode speakers did you get? Thanks for the info.
