'87 300D radio wiring diagram
quick question for someone that has the wiring diagram
My antenna (missing the mast) does not currently work. No motor noise if I turn the radio to tuner and push the button for the antenna. Pulled the radio out and the power lead for the antenna is not connected and there is a brown with blue stripe wire just hanging out not going to anything from the car side. Is this brown/blue wire the lead to the antenna? I just had the antenna out, you think I would have checked the wiring on that end. thanks Also, not sure on my antenna model I took a picture of it and I can see Auta 6000KE F10 4310 124 820 1775 80 Last edited by TheDon; 03-27-2012 at 07:11 PM. I just went through the same problem with my 87 300D. Everything is back together and don't remember the color wires but the antenna connection is a standard push on connector located very close to the multi plugon socket to the left side as your looking from the front. Also my Becker Power antenna is covered up but you can find out the mod number at Becker AutoSound web site.

Sure.
Go to this thread, post 13, Antenne question It links to this thread: Mercedes Factory Service Manuals Skip the intro, select disc 1 (like recommended in post 13), then hit the triangle for "More", then select the '87 300D turbo, then "Continue" then "Electrical Troubleshooting". I strongly recommend perusing the "How to use..." section since it's got good-to-know info in it. Or you can jump right in to the Wiring Diagrams. Use the "Back" button on the M-B page, NOT on your browser. Wait the few minutes. Be patient. You're young, I know patience is difficult. You might have to enable pop-ups if it doesn't load. IE9 asks, then takes a bit of time, then launches a new tab. The radio for MY 1986-89 is on page 131, or page 89 if you're using the pdf page count. But the diagram may not help much. Your description of the brown/blue wire is not clear. You say: Quote:
As I wrote in your earlier thread, there is no Br/Bl wire evident in the radio harness diagrams. This doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It might be part of your alarm (like maybe what Becker shows) or your '87 might not have an alarm. Later year W124s had Br + some other color as part of the alarm system. A picture of the connections in your radio area would be helpful. |

Finally got around to taking those pictures
I actually found more wires that are not connected to anything this one you can see the wire colors. The wires from the radio that are not connected to anything are for the following: power antenna, radio interrupt, and a signal wire. Ideas? I have a feeling they are the wires for the switch |
