I have a 97 W202 with the optional built in cell phone (it was there when I bought it)
My question is this. when Im using the CD changer why does the antenna go up? I can understand with the radio but why the CD. First I thought...maybe because of the built in phone...but then the phone is powered off? Anyone have insight on this? ------------------ My name is Joey and I drive a silver car. |

Your antenna senses power from your radios head unit. Power on = up, Power off = down. Your antenna isn't smart enough to know what function your radio is performing. Work around? I dont know, I have never heard of one. Sorry. Paul

You might try getting Stevebfl's attention. With my 1992 W140, the antenna was staying up even with the radio/head unit turned off. I asked them to fix it and they did something and now the antenna only works when the radio/head unit (including CD mode) is turned on. I didn't care about the cell phone working because as nice as it is, (a) it's analog and (b) you can't take it with you.
Hope this helps.... Brian |
