Hi All,

Here are the facts:

1) I owned a '99 E55 with the K2 option installed (analog StarTac & cd changer).

2) I'm waiting delivery (mid-July) of a '01 SLK 320.

3) K2 & K2a options for the '01 SLK 320 are not yet available from MB.

4) Quality of phone service ('01 digital vs. '99 analog) is not an issue with me. Phone use in the SLK will mainly be in the hands-free mode with the top up.

I would like to order a '99 E55 K2 option (phone & changer) for the '01 SLK 320, so that I can use the same cellular number for both cars by moving the portable analog StarTac from one car to the other, will this work? also will the changer work as well?

Thanks for any help on this.

Why dont you buy a 00 SLK kit instead
of the one for a different range ? Theres
a bunch of special wiring loom and fitting
kit in the box thats important.
Also, the head unit needs programming to
tell it what is connected aswell.

Theres a dealer at Tysons Corner, VA that
let me have a good look at the kit for a
ML (I live in Europe, and they dont do
dealer fitment of this stuff here, only
factory fit) - essenstially,. the ML
kit for digital startac, consists of
Holder and template for phone in glovebox
PSE kit (connects D2B to phone) and
template
Big wiring loom, including fibre optic
Aerial
Aerial amplifier thing

Hope that helps

R
