Dear List,
I had my radio stolen a few weeks ago.
I would like some recommendations on a replacement unit with a wood effect front that will marry in with the wood on the facia.
I am not interested in very hi-spec or flashing lights or bobbing symbols.
I want a tape unit on the facia and the possibility of installing a cd autochanger in the boot later.
Any recommendations and web sites I can browse.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Ed Maddock

I don't know of any such item...I recommend you get a detachable face head unit & take it with you...it's far less likely that your car will be robbed if there's no visible radio.

Another option is to buy a Head Unit with a front panel that hides out of the way...go to crutchfield.com & check out their offerings.

There a few manufactures that make the wood effect facia. Kenwood and Pioneer from the top of my head. Kenwood excelon series have an attachable faceplate face that can be inter changed to the wood replica. Kenwood calls them "cosmetic panels" . Do check Crutchfield.com as suggested but I am not sure if they offer the panels with their units. You might have to contact the headunits company directly. Hope this helps some.

Found this on the Kenwood site. If you get through to crutchfield ask them about it ok.
Take care.
