I was wondering if anyone has placed a aftermarket alarm or radio, Subs in a 1997 c-280.
Has anyone ever hooked an alarm to the factory alarm wires? Any diagrams available?

Thanks

when I bought my car it had an aftermarket alarm so I left it alone....

I did look at the wiring of how it was done, and apparently they spliced intot he wires fromt he factory alarm without disconnecting it.

If I use my key to lock/unlock the car, the factory alarm still sets and unsets just as if I didnt have an aftermarket alarm.

C280 alarm and sub

I have a 1995 C280. Installed was a VIPER alarm that is not wired into the car's factory wiring. I had a 10 inch sub installed with a 300 Watt Amp so it has very nice base now. I believe the sub and amp are wired directly from the radio unit (bypassing stereo's amp) and sound is supplied directly from rear speaker on lid (in trunk). Hope this helps. Any other questions, feel free to Email me.
