w202 1998 v6 bose audio problems

Hello everybody, i have a mb w202 with some electical problems. It has a bose audio system and after a very rainy day suddenly all my speakers have a "pounch" noise when i power on the headunit. And also the driver door speaker and passanger rear speaker not emitting any sound. I have read from some other post that it might be the ground problem.

Also as soon as i saw the problem went in the trunk tu see the connection to the amplifier, probably when i was removing the coverage of the trunk walls i touch some cabeles and the sound appears in all speakers. Wake up next day the problem came back. On the third day of the problem when the radio was playing i saw that tha front door driver speaker got warm/hot and i disconect it.

To get little bit of presure i disconected the amp connectors so the only power to the speakers come from head unit. I will be very happy if i will jave any advices wjat to do what to check before something got burnned. My email: mir-serioga@mail.ru

Amplifier Problem

Hi serioga111,

My experience with this system is that the amplifier gets wet and damaged on the inside but doesn't show it on the outside. Most of them are repairable. I would caution buying a replacement one from a junk yard or E-Bay since most of them were and probably are water damaged. The problem is that the water runs down the harness and drips into the grill holes at the top of the amplifier that stands upright on the drivers trunk side. Even though the cable connects on the bottom the water enters on the top. I bet if you were to open it you would see what I am talking about. If you want it repaired let me know through my Website. Thank you for using the forum.
