190e rear speakers
I see most people are upgrading to 5.25 or 6.5 in rear deck. I would like to do the same. How does one remove the rear deck?Do I need to remove the back seat? If so, how do I remove it? I Have the Haynes manual for my 1985 190e and it does not cover removing the rear seat or rear deck. I would like to mount the speakers on the backside of the rear deck. Please help.

The bottom seat comes out first as there are two tabs you push to release it then there are 3x 8mm head screws that hold the bottom of the verticle section in 1 in the center and 2 on the outside edges. Then you slide it up to release the top and it comes out. Then you will need to take out the clips that hold the deck in place. Then you need to remove both side trim panels by the window (otherwise they will get scratched by the edge of the rear deck) .
Good luck! Scott@lajollaaudio
