Becker 1480: Don't understand 3-pin "Line Out"

I pulled a Becker 1480 from a recent 560SEL purchase to install an aftermarket head.

I was surprised to see that there were no plugs in the "R" and "L" sockets on the back of the Becker. Instead, there was only a 3-pin plug into the "Line Out" module on the back...which doesn't show up in the online Becker wiring diagram. Picture is attached below.

There is scant information online about this part, and my new stereo has the standard R/L wires.

Does anyone know how I use that 3-pin to revert back to standard R/L wiring?

Well, I just started playing around with it and the following works

1. Left + speaker in the top pin
2. Both - returns in the middle pin
3. Right + speaker in the lower pin

I didn't even use any other pin or connection. So far, it sounds fine.

Note that those "line outs" are not at normal line level... that box on the back is a preamp. If you remove it you'll find line levels at the connector on the back of the radio.
