Factory speaker wire and cutout
Today I removed my factory 4" speaker on my W126. I just have a few questions. 1) When I pulled it out of the hole, the wire seemed to have a little round thing attached to it. What is this, and do I need to leave it on there when installing a new speaker? 2) Since the factory 4 is mounted on some sort of a plate, when the plate is removed there is an oval cutout. This looks like it would fit a 4x6 just fine. So how would I go about putting another 4 into that hole, or should I go with a 4x6? Anyone tried this? 3) When doing a full upgrade, is it better to replace all the speaker wires that run to the speakers, or can I just hook the new ones right into the factory wires? Thanks for any help.
