300D No power antenna or front speakers

I have a 1992 300D 2.5 TURBO that had a Pioneer stereo put in by the previous owner. The stereo works great as do the rear speakers and the speakers in the front doors. Problem is that no sound comes out of the front speakers in the dash at all. I also don't have any power antenna function.

The fader in the center console is connected to the new stereo and works as it should. When I adjust to play sound out of only the front speakers I get no sound from any speakers, but when I put the adjuster in the middle or all the way back I get perfect sound from the back speakers and the speakers in the front doors.

So, I guess my question is, where should I start looking for the problem?

Found my problem & a solution!

I decided to tear into the radio system which turns out to be the infamous Becker 1432. I could not believe how complicated the system is for only six speakers.

I found that the wire that controls the antenna function had never been hooked up properly and I'm in the process of repairing that, but while I was at it I decided that I want to simplify the wiring for the whole system, but maintain the active bass function and the stock fader function since the fader on the Pioneer is a bit complicated for quick use.

I also found that both front speakers would not respond to the old AA or 9 volt battery trick even when applied directly to the inputs on the seakers themselves. So, I thought that I simply had bad front speakers. Well, turns out that that was not my only problem with the front speakers.

They also were not connected to the fader, which is what the new deck was running the speakers for front and rear through. So, I think I have a good solution to repairing it all. I will post some pictures soon of what I had to do to get to the wiring harness for the radio.

I plan to run the front and rear speakers through the stock fader from the front speaker output on the Pioneer. I then plan to use the rear speaker output on the Pioneer to give the signal to the rear amplifier to drive the door speakers. I will also use the antenna signal wire off of the back of the Pioneer to also tell the rear amp when to turn on since it happens to stay live even in CD or Aux. mode.

Just wanted to help out anyone else who is silly enough to want to keep the stock fader and active bass function on their 1432 becker system when putting in a new head unit. Any feedback is appreciated.

Problem Solved!

I finished a while ago, but I haven't had much time to come on and post a conclusion, so here it is!

I decided to buy a new deck with bluetooth for my phone and to wirelessly stream music. Also, the color and brightness for the radio's backlighting is customizable so that I could match it to the rest of the interior backlighting. The unit is a Pioneer DEH-X6600BT. It's a little flashy, but not too bad and the price was right.

Anyway, I discovered that the wiring diagram I was using didn't show that some of the factory wiring for the audio system changes colors when it meets up with another component, so I was stuck on this for a while since I am not an electrical expert.

I was able to decipher it though and I found the wire that is suppose to signal the antenna go up and found that both of the antennas I have for that car are in fact dead, but at least I have the wiring correct now. I connected this signal wire for the antenna and the wire that tells the factory amp when to turn on to the 12V signal wire on the back of the Pioneer.

I then repaired the wiring that goes from the fader switch to the front speakers and replace the speakers with some stock used ones. Then, I wired up the front speaker output on the Pioneer to the input wires on the factory amplifier which splits the signal and only sends low tones to the door speakers. Then I made sure that the output on the amp was connected properly to the fader.

Then, I tested it and BAM! sound out of all 6 speakers.

I still need to post pictures of the wire diagram I had and of the installation.
