Wr124 Dash Speaker Wiring Question
There are four wires total, looks like two sets of two conductor cable. Why?
The replacement speaker only requires one set of two conductor cables. How do I wire the one set of two conductor cable replacement with the two set of conductor cables provided by MB? Fwiw, the depth of the Polk Audio 5.25 speakers appear too deep for the pocket. I am a guitar player and wire my guitars all the time so I thought wiring some speakers up shouldn't be too hard. But there are so many little innuendos with my car! Love it though... has almost 300k miles and gets 30 miles per gallon. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps5444726e.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps0eea66b8.jpg I accidentally broke off one of the connectors, but they look the same on both sides (before I snapped it off) http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psaa2071fe.jpg |
Should only be the driver's speaker that's DVC. The second coil and pair of leads is for the car phone.
It's been a while since I have had the speakers out of mine (and I didn't use the factory wiring anyway), but you should be able to figure out which of the two harnesses is speaker wiring easily enough - play some music, connect the pair of leads to your new speakers, and if there's sound, you're good. |
