W123 will 5.25" fit in the dash with modifications?

Hi!

Just wondering if 5.25" will fit in the dash with modification.

Regards

I dunno for sure. There's probably just about enough space underneath - between bulkhead and dash so long as you don't have a deep speaker but there's not that much space width-wise.

I think you'll have to be a pioneer and go where no man has gone before.

These days you can get really nice small speakers that in a car would probably sound just as good as the slightly larger ones. I'm not sure if it is worth the trouble. The best thing to do is to go and listen to what you can get / afford and make up your mind that way.

In a W123 you can probably improve most audio systems by replacing the door seals and stop hurricane Betty (or whatever) whistling its way through!

If you are talking about the speakers =>

I can't really answer that for you - it is all subjective - plus in the world of HiFi and car audio there's a fair amount of BS / fashion that makes people want one thing or another.

If you are talking about the door seals =>

Heck yes new rubber seals make a world of difference.
