1980 300sd speakers
Hi,
I am looking to change my stereo speakers. Can someone give me an idea how to get at the front ones easily? |

Your front ones should be able to hold 4x6's. I suggest Alpine or Kenwood 3-way's. To get to them, there are two small screws that hold your speaker gaurds down on the front. After you unscrew those, just pull it off. Your speakers are held down by screws. Just unscrew them to get the speakers out, then hook up your new speakers, and reverse.

Small hands, Small tools
Hello:
I used a very stubby screwdriver to get at my grills on the front. Those regular sized ones didn't work for me. Hope this helps. Although, my Benz was the easiest install I've ever done. My hardest? A 80 Toyota Corolla sedan with no rear speakers. Had to take nost of the dash off to get the wires going back there. Then had to cut up the deck panel. What a nightmare. The Benz is a pleasure as long as everything is the right size. 4x6's in the FRONT of a 116? Wow very cool, my 123 (79 300CD)holds 3.5 rounds in front and 4" in the rear. I am guessing your 80 SD is a 116. Wasnt it 82 or 83 before the 126 SDs? Please correct me if I am mistaken. Have fun,
