Becker 612 Cassette is ejecting automatically

Hi all,
I sourced a Becker 612 for my '85 300D out of '85 300D California spec car in the junkyard. Amazingly, it does work - the only problem is that it tries to eject the cassette as soon as it's inserted, as long as there's power. Watching the mechanism with the bottom plate off, it's clear that there's a solenoid that's forcing it to eject. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I de-soldered the solenoid, since there's still a mechanical eject mechanism, but then the cassette doesn't want to actually play. And yes, I know I can send it out to be repaired, but what's the fun in that?

Also, has anyone tried wiring one of these head units for bluetooth? I've seen some implementations that involve bypassing the cassette head and running signal directly to the pre-amp, but for different radios.

Really, this is all not a huge deal, just a nice-to-have. I'm probably going to use my modern radio most of the time, just swap in the original one for shows...If I can ever get the dash reinstalled, so I can drive the thing again...

This is normally caused by the belts that drive the tape being broken. There are two belts on some of these.

I don't have the measurements for these belts or a source. Hopefully someone will.

Open the unit up by pulled off the top and bottom covers. Be careful when doing this as if the belts are broken the pieces will fall out or worse into the radio.
