Cellular phone mute?

I was wondering. Is it possible, to lets say use relays that when a signal, i.e. sound is passed through it, it will turn off the stereo, then resume when the call has ended?

What I am thinking is some kind of way that when sound is passed from the phone to the speaker, this connection is intercepted by the relay, and the relay passes the signal to the speaker but turns off the radio power, to work as a cellular mute feature.

I have a full car kit my cell guy just gave me. I don't see a cell mute feature, but it might be there I havent looked at the wiring, but the current stereo does not have a cell mute feature, so I was thinking it could just cut the power to the radio when the phone rings and is being answered, then return power to the radio afterwards..

What do you think?

I'm hoping for pretty much a yes it can work heres what you need to do answer, or nope, sorry it wont.

Either answer is fine, not a big deal to pause the cd with a button. but would be neat if I didn't have to hehe

Thanks

Alon

1st you need a phone that has a mute trigger otherwise you are dead in the water. The easy thing to do is interrupt the acc 12v wire to the headunit with a relay..............
