1987 420 sel radio coded
After having work done on my climate control,my stock radio for my vehicle stopped working. There was a dotted line of sort on the display which meant to get the radio recoded at the dealer. Everything worked well for about three weeks until one morning;I went into the vehicle to find the same dotted line on the display.Does anyone know why the radio did noy keep the code? Thanks for any replies on this matter, chunky!

I have fought this for years - the problem is the 6 volt Lithium battery mounted on the underside of the PC board on the top side of the radio. The battery runs between $5 and $6 and takes about ten minutes to replace. The battery can be purchased at a FRY's or really any place that sells the Lithium battery.
Good luck!!!! Mark |
