2 ohms or 8 ohms bridged?

OK, here's a new question: I just bought a 100w/channel amp rated for use at 150 w/channel if presented with a 2-ohm load. I had previously had my dual voice coil woofer with one voice coil connected to the left channel and the other one connected to the right channel. I have recently read that this should never be done. Is my best option to run the voice coils in parallel off of one channel? The amp says that the minimum impedance if I bridge the amp to 300 watts is 4 ohms. Would I have better results wiring the subs in parallel off one channel and driving the amp at 2 ohms, or wiring the voice coils in series for an 8 ohm load and bridging the amp to 300 watts?

i think you'll need a more powerful amp to handle the 2ohm load. from my experience, the amp will get hot quick and you'll have a lot of distortion with that power range.
if you have dual 4ohm VC's, try wiring them in series and bridge that amp to a single channel. this might give you nice clean bass but you'll definately lose power. chances are, you'll like the way it sounds if you want SQ.

aizn,

thanks for the advice, I'm not sure why I was told that running the voice coils to seperate channels was a bad idea, but the amp sounds great with it wired that way. I'll just stick to the 4 ohms/channel with the voice coils on different channels.

no problem. there should be no problems wiring each vc to the amp. i used this site when i started installing stereos. this is a very good refrence. it sould answer all your sub wiring questions.
