I NEED TO KNOW IF I CAN REPLACE JUST THE REAR SPEAKERS OF MY CAR AND WILL IT DAMAGE THE STEREO AND THE PRE AMP IF THERE IS ONE? THE ORIGINAL REAR SPEAKERS ARE RATED 2 OHMS AND I AM NOT SURE IF THIS HAS A FACTORY PRE AMP, CAN I USE A 4 OHM MB QUART SPEAKERS TO REPLACE THE REAR? MY REAR RIGHT SPEAKER JUST STOP WORKING AND I NEED TO REPLACE THE REAR, ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE.

ok well if you have the premium sound, 6 speakers, and tape player, you should have the amplified system. You can't just replace the rear speakers w/o rewiring them I think. Im not sure myself. someone will answer with a more detailed answer im sure...

You can replace the speakers with whatever you like
if they dont work right you will blow them when you crank up the volume at the top range

Putting in a 4 ohm speaker will work, it just won't play as loud as you will have @ a 50% drop in volume due to the drop in efficency. It would only pose a problem if you were to drop the impeadence, this would put more load on the amp and possibly cause it to fail. Go ahead with the new speakers you can always either add a new amplifier or change out the radio later.
