Suggestions for Rear Speakers for Wagon?
The Becker was replaced by the PO with a Sony CD unit with 20wx4. I pulled the head unit and tore apart the console and wired each speaker separately (replaced the factory speakers with "cheap" Pioneer coaxial 4". Front ones sound great. Rears suck: much distortion, poor response. Is this due to being underpowered or is it locational?
Anybody with a w123 wagon do anything different with their rear speakers? |

#1 it isa poor location and it takes the same size speaker as you put in the front. There is not much else you can do other that into the tailgate or rear doors.

I'm just going through all the 20 year old goo now with my W123 wagon - and it's all very exciting...
I have just put 5 1/4" MBQuarts in the rear, as the stock paper cone jobbies were *wayy* out of kilter with my desire to have something even approaching nice to listen to. Managed to get all the headlining back as original too! The stock speakers are like designed for a computer case... beep!
