radio areial popped out

I sent my car in to a registered MB sales and service shop and one of my complaints was that the radio aerial made clack clack clack noises when it reached full extension and also when it reached full retraction. They had a look at it claiming that it needed a new mast assembly. I knew that, but all the time it was operating ok up and down for the last 3 months. On my way home from the shop after picking up the car, I was so embarassed when my car aerial popped out at the traffic light when I switched on the radio. Imagine how fed up I was? Then I went straight back to the dealer and most of their workers had gone home for the weekend. They promised to look at it on Monday! Who should bear the blame for this? As far as I am concerned, I brought it to them with an aerial which worked fine except for this noise. When they returned the car to me the aerial is now damaged beyond repair. Your opinions will be appreciated, thanks.
