83 300D Europa removal help needed
I would like to put in a Pioneer CD player in place of this 'works when it feels like it' Europa. First, how does this thing come out? The Haynes manual has a different radio illustrated. Second; do ALL of these cars have their own amp hidden somewhere in the car? My wiring diagram doesn't show one. And have any of you used the wiring that is provided(going to the fader and then to the speakers) to wire your speakers in? If it's possible I'd like to do it just to save time, rather than snake wire to the rear deck. Last; what's a good speaker to put in the front and rear of these cars without doing a lot of cutting? I'm not interested in amps and subs, I just want 4 speakers and the head unit. Thanks a bunch guys! |

There is an easier way to get the radio out and that is to remove the two screws holding the ashtray frame in and remove it then the springs on the radio can be forced downward to remove the radio. The fronts will take a 4 in coaxial and the rear can take a 5.25 or a 6". If you want I can sell you the pieces you need for your car..My # is 800-467-6545 if I am not avail ask for Don.
