Question Hirschmann Antenna Operation

The Hirschmann antenna on my car has never worked. The shaft was bent and the tip broken off. Also the tab on the gear that locks into the spring and the drive belt were broken internally. I've fixed all these things and the antenna now seems to work fine.

My question is, how long should the motor to run after the antenna has reached its full up or full down position? I can hear the motor straining for a few seconds when it reaches the end of travel. Is that normal? I just don't want to break all the new parts I just installed.

BTW www.antennaworld.com has repair parts for these antennas. Just search for Hirschmann in their online catalog.

Thanks,
BoB

If you didn't replace all the internal plastic pieces than should be your problem. You need to replace all plastic pieced to fix the problem.
