Remote Entry
 

Hi,

I posted this question in another forum and got no responce, so I was wondering if the Electronic Geniuses may know the answer to my question.

Here Goes:

Car is a: 300CE, W124 Coupe

I have a "switch blade" type key fob from a newer car. A friend of mine was fooling with it doing some testing and he said it emmits a "RF" signal as well as "IR" and if i was to get a "Code Catcher" I could use this remote to operate a keyless entry system. He feels its similar to adding functions to factory remote control systems.

Is he way off the mark or is this possible? Where would one get this "Code Catcher" to make it work?
