Unhappy Nak SP-40 4" coax question

Hi,

I have these installed in my '87 260E and they really sound like crap. They don't sound right... that is... these are full-range speakers. I pulled them out and it doesn't seem to have a cross-over. Are these supposed to come with a capacitor or something? Please advise....

I'm currently installing (disassembel Nak sp-300) in the front and rear. Punched a hole under where the med kit was and still installing a 10" Soundstream Sub... still need amp. I'm going to McGyver the rear so it fits in the stock location. I don't have much choice for the front, but keep the 4" Naks. Should I go ahead and install the tweets at the stock location and find a place for the mid, or should I install a cross-over on the 4" like I think it should already have....

BTW... the HU now is just a 20X4 Sony, but don't think it's causing the problem....

thanks,

sjsfiji
