base head units and subwoofers

Does anyone know how MB base headunits (mine is a 2000 C230 non-bose) perfom with the addition of an amp and a subwoofer. I am thinking about adding two 10inch subs and a 600watt amp to my stereo and I would like to know if it is worth doing with the base headunit. I guess the brand is a Becker, it is the same headunit that is in the CLK's and SLK's.
