W140 Speaker Replacements
Can someone please tell me the speaker size replacements for all the speakers in a 1993 W140?

4 shelf speakers.
2 in each of the front doors.
1 in each of the rear doors.

The rear shelf speakers are free air woofers 6.5" the rear doors are a 3.75" and the front doors are a tweeter @ 2" but anything can be adapted and{ the mids are a 5" I believe }(I am not at home with the pics of your car).The center channel speaker behind the mirror is 7th ch. If you are not in need of your stock amp any more let me know as we need them for our repair dept.

w140 speakers
Can anybody tell me what the ohm rating on these speakers are. I wanted to replace a number of them owing to wear but I hear that they may be rated at 2ohm. Is there any special setup involved i.e. do they have onboard amplifiers etc. If anyone had a wiring diagram for the Bose system for the 1994 S320 I would much appreciate it.

Check Ebay. I got it there. Look for Electrical Troubleshooting Manual (ETM). Three big binders for W140

what does that mean "free air woofer"? Is it a special speaker? And doesnt the w140 have a special subwoofer or are these speakers in the back the "bass makers"?

If the amp is a seven channel system running 11 speakers I assume that the speakers are wired in parallel. What ohm rating are the speakers and what are the specs on the amplifier. It's like trying to find the secret ingredients for Coca Cola. Very little info from Bose. Any chance of a laymans wiring schema for this intriguing system.

Have you seen the cheepo quality of the cone material used. Not likely to last beyond seven years. Not exactly the answer I was looking for.
