1432 8Pin DIN connector

Scott was very kind to post and tell me how to connect my changer. For my big act of grace this year...I managed to break the wiring for my 8 pin connector. The head came off it and as I was working with it 3 of the little wires broke. I wrote the wiring diagram and had an electronic's guru friend re-solder onto a new connector.
Well, apparantly I wrote down the wrong sequence as it won't work now. The tuner unit in the trunk just clicks.

Where would I get an 8 pin DIN connector and how difficult is it to reinstall this? Does it run under the carpet or where?

I like the way the 1432 looks and operates. I know this would probably be a good time to upgrade, but I just bought the translator and a changer.

If anyone has the wiring sequence for the 8 pin connector...that would work too. The car is FINALLY running right and I'm anxious to get "tunes" back going inside...

Thanks for any suggestions!!!

Go to http://www.beckersautosound.com

Under the What's New menu, look for the: "1994 to 1997 DIN-ISO connector Pin out and Diagram" link. It will show all connections for the 1432 Becker radio.

This is for a 1992 300E. This diagram is the square connector. I need it for the round 8 pin. If there is a way to translate this...I'm all eyes. But, it doesn't look like the same.

The cable I took apart was in three sections. 2 brown, 2 green, two white, and two orange/ground wires. The pin is round with one in the center and 7 around it.

It will probably require a new cable. I would RATHER not remove the interior for this cable...but I may not have a choice.

This page from ETM for 92 W140 cars. Looks like direct cable. Check each wire for continuity and for shorts.

Thanks for the info! I printed out the wiring diagram. There are only 3 colors on my DIN connector. I looked at the diagram and wondered what I would do...then, alas it occured to me that since the wiring was straight through...I could take the plug apart at the radio end. I'm taking the car back to my friend this weekend and let him figure out the wiring.

It's probably a better idea to just put in a new wire...but I'm trying to avoid removing the interior to install the new wire.

If there are any other words of wisdom...I'm all eyes...

Thanks again for all the info!
