Need help with W123 head unit replacement

I have finally decided to replace the aftermarket cassette player in my '82 240D with a new MP3 CD player. Unfortunately, after reading several posts and articles, I am stuck as to getting the old unit out of the console. I removed the ashtray and the two screws behind it - but there doesn't seem to be a way to access the mounting bracket that way. The only other way that I can think of is removing the entire plastic moulding that surrounds the console - but that seems like a lot of work, and none of the posts or articles mention anything like that.

I'm guessing that the replacement will be smooth once I get the unit out, since it already has an aftermarket unit in, and nothing should need to be screwed into the console itself - just to the bracket.

I am not seeing any clips or flaps that will free the old unit. Can anyone give me some pointers?

TIA!

I'd like to know how to do the same, or simply how to get access to the back of the unit so I can plug a CD changer in.

Well, I managed to remove the old unit from the console. I just made a "special tool" out of a coat hanger and was able to find some clips on the sides (near the front) of the unit that allowed it pop right out.

Now for the fun part.. wiring!
