do you still have the cd changer and will it work on just a regular alpine head unit (7893) or is it just for the beckers?

It will work with all Alpine M-Bus receivers and Ai-net receivers with an adapter

Please be aware that the changer does not come with the cable that runs from the head unit to the changer. You will probably need to get that through an audio shop. Shouldn't be much though. Thanks for looking!
