Does W203 Integrated Phone Add Power
I am curious if the digital integrated phone in the later model cars add a better antenna or more power. It is a digital phone that plugs into the system. When it is plugged into the car, does it merely integrate the audio into the radio, or does it add power and a better antenna to offer a better signal in fringe areas?

There is a add'l attenna in the rear bumper but, if it actually add anything to the signal I dunno. I do know most digital moto phones do pretty well on reception.

It integrates into the factory soundsystem, and for reception it uses a linear compensator which will select the best antenna in the car for the cell phone to use.

The roof antenna is the telephones' primary antenna. The rear bumper antenna is the back-up for Tele-Aid. I've never noticed much of a difference in reception, regardless of whether the phone is in the portable or mobile mode.
