1994 C280 stereo questions

We just inherited a very nice 94 c280 from my father-in-law with the stock Bose system. It sounds pretty damn good, but I would like to get a little more low-end. I checked with the local Meyer-Emco and they said they knew of no easily added subwoofer due to the wiring of the Bose system. Anyone with any other ideas? I don't need super high-end, I'd like to add a relatively simple powered subwoofer if it could be easily incorporated.

I posted something in regard to adding a CD changer on the general tech board, but probably should've posted it here. The car is supposedly pre-wired for a CD changer, and has the CD button on the face plate. I bought what is supposed to be a plug in unit from Crutchfield made by USA SPEC. It certainly appears to be the correct unit with the 10-pin rectangular adapter, but I simply have not been able to find the corresponding connector in the trunk. The only open connector is a three pin square connector I found on the right side where the 10-pin is supposed to be. Any ideas on what this plug is for, and any further details on where to find the 10-pin?

Here is a pic of the connector found on the right side of the trunk. If you take the trunk liner trim out all the way to the front of the trunk you will find the cable tied up. There is no reason you can't tie into the rear deck subs and then tie into an amp or a self powered subwoofer to get some more bottom end out of your car. You can even disconnect the 6" sub speakers all together if you want.

I finally found it! I just had the time today to do a good search, and basically disassembled the entire trunk. I was expecting to find it down low as depicted in the photo above, or as described in several other older posts. However, it was stuffed up into the passageway leading from the cab area into the trunk on the upper passenger side. Another spot to look for those looking to do the same thing.

Fully installed the CD Changer today - everything works perfect.

Does anyone know what this three-pin loose connector I found near the CD connector is? It is square with a plastic tab in the place of a fourth pin. Just curious.

Do you have a pic of it ?
