My antenna broke!

So I was washing the car the other day and I think I busted the antanna, so I tried to fix it myself and made it worse. Now, it isn't salvagable and must be replaced. Any ideas on cost? I'm not in any hurry to repair it, but I do enjoy the radio. Its an '84 300D.

What did you do to the antenna, I am sure you can fix it, as long as the motor still works. I fixed mine a few months ago, and I thought I couldn't fix it until I tore it apart.

Try this

If the antenna broke off, especially if it broke off at the bottom of the antenna near the attachment housing like mine did, try this.

The antenna is made up of about 4 tubes. Remove the bottom tube. The new bottom tube is slightly smaller in diameter. It should fit in the "hole" left in the base housing. The antenna will be shorter, but it is a quick fix that worked for me.

They have the part at Fastlane...... and often on ebay.

I had to replave the mast in one of my cars last week. The mast seperated itself (the top two sections shot out of the bottom two). Installing it was a breeze....it took maybe 2 minutes. Instructions are on the package it comes in.
The mast I replaced was the toothed kind.

My '85 takes a toothed mast leader. I'm not sure but I don't think they went to the smooth mast leader until the 90s.

There's a button at the top of the page labeled "Fastlane". It's a wonderful thing. There are three styles of masts listed, with prices ranging from $21 to $32.
