Just installed Alpine CD changer won't play.

Hi,

I just purchased a Alpine CHN-S630 CD Changer for an 98 C-230 MB. Installiton was fairly straight forward, finding the 9 pin connector bundled along the floor mat and right side panel in the trunk. I purchased a adapter from Crutchfiled that adapts the p pin to a round Din cable found on the Changer. After filling the magazine with CD, I turned on the radio where I heard the CD changer transport load a CD into the player, but there was no indication on the display, nor any audio from the radio. It was like the Changer was not even there "electronically". Can anyone help?

Thanks

The adapter is a OEM interface MBZ-ALP made by Precision interface electronics.

The problem is the PIE adapter you have is not compatiable with any mercedes built after mid 1995. The adapter you need and the best one available is the periferal mbzil adapter and you will no longer have any problems! Let me know if you need one as I always keep them in stock.
