Power Antenna not working
Hi all,
I finally pulled out my antenna assembly, a lot easier to get out than I thought. When I turn on my radio the antenna does not go up. I took the whole assembly out and on my work bench I pulled it apart. Can't be sure but looked as though the motor had gotten damp or wet and I sae some rust. I am guessing that some water got around the warn mast sleeve and fitting and ran down to the components inside the housing. There appears to be two plugs that plug into the top side of the housing. One has three female plug holes and the other is a single, small, female plug. Could someone tell me how I could test the plugs to see if my motor is getting the correct electrical signals. I want to narrow the problem down to either the antenna / motor or radio wiring. I was able to easily manually spin the motor and extend the antenna, so there is nothing jammed. Thanks again, Joel |
