Simple/silly question on stock Bekker
I have a '95 E300D with the stock radio - cassette. This is the radio which has a round knob on the left for volume and on/off (by pushing) and the red LED in the middle which flashes when the car is turned off.
I just bought this car recently. The volume knob is covered with some kind of sticky funk which I'd like to remove. My question is, how to remove this knob so I can clean it up! Can I just pry it up? I can't see any set screw. All advice appreciated. Rgds, Chris W. '95 E300D |

Yes you can just pull the knob out. You dont even need to use that much force. It's like those amplifier knobs.
THe sticky stuff might just be worn out surface that can't be cleaned off. I don't know how to explain it but try cleaning it and see if you could. Otherwise you can always buy a new knob

Yup,
I replaced mine once. Call Becker at (888)423-3537.
