420SEL no sound on one side

The car is a 89 420SEL with a six speaker system and amps. Now the problem is that there is sound only on the left (driver side) and there is no sound on the passenger side either rear or fronts. Could this be a probelm with the amps or is it a problem with the head unit?
Also when I touch the fader there is a lot of disturbance as can be heard in the speakers, so could it be the fader switch?

My second question is that is it possible to somwhow add the original mercedes CD changer to the stock becker headunit? If so what type of a cd changer work.

I want to maintain the stock system and therefore if the becker unit is gone I would still go and buy another used becker unit. I was earlier thinking about going with an aftermarket but have changed my mind and want to stick with the OEM.

Thanks

The problem could be the fader control or the radio or the amp. My bet is the amplifier and the easiest test for this is to remove the back seat and swap the amplifiers to see if the problem moves side to side and if it does then you will know what it is. The 780 radio that you have will not control a cd changer and my recomendation would be to go to a 1994 model or newer so you dont have to deal with the 1432 two piece radio as it is more complicated and needs a lot more parts. Best of all to just put a new in-dash cd player as this is cost effictive and reliable. But good luck! here is a pic of the stock amp

If I switch to a newr (post 94) headunit would I still be able to use my fader?

Thanks for the reply
