I'd like to find a factory cd changer for my '93 500E. There seems to be boatloads of them on ebay, however they are mostly fiber optic, newer versions, etc. Even reviewing the archives here, I can't seem to pin down exactly which type / model / part number would be for my car.

Apart from the changer itself do I need anything else to install it? Thanks in advance!

You need a alpine m bus cd changer a translator and three cables and a bracket to do it. If you are interested in one I am an alpine dealer and I stock all the parts needed to do the install and can help you out. There is even a cd changer that will work directly with your radio and plays mp-3's

The Becker 10 disc CD980 would have been the factory unit...however thay have been discontinued....and I think you can make an Alpine unit hook up to it with some extra cables
