PLEASE HELP!!! Installing an Aftermarket CD Player on 1991 300SL M-Benz
 

if anyone out there who got there Mercedes factory stereo replaced with an Aftermarket CD Player In-Dash Unit please i need your insights and suggestions. I have a 1991 300SL Mercedes Benz and would like to replace the M-Benz factory stereo with a new CD Player. some people say that i need to replace everything like the speakers, amplifiers, and all that....some people say that i just need to buy a harness for the new CD Player....im confused! so please let me know what should i do. thanks in advance! You can hook up a head unit without replacing anything else, I have done this in my 91 500SL. The speakers are also easy to replace, dont get misled by "experts" who tell you that speakers have to be custom made, just stick with a low profile basket like JL or MB Quart. MB Quarts fit in my stock 500SL boxes with only very very minor modification to fit the speaker connectors.
