1986 560 SL Radio
 

As I was driving today the radio stop playing. all the lights are on but no sound. The tape deck won't work.. any ideas.
i just bought the SL with only 52000 miles, its beautiful. The person I bought it from owned it from day one, he took care of it.
Also within the last week a radiator hose went and the heat shield fell off the muffler. What else hould I check

A lot of people have replaced the stock radio with a newer cd radio for improved sound and volume with the addition of two rear speakers. If you want I have a stock working radio from my 86 560Sl that we can perhaps work out a deal. In any case good luck with your car.

Check out your fuse box first. Fuses corrode or sometimes just go weak due to old age. If the radio is truly "dead" and it's a Becker and you want to stay 100% original, Becker will repair it. Do a Google search on the web for Becker. They have a US repair facility. Tod
