Since you are adding a regular antenna you WILL need a longer coaxial cacle for the antenna, just start at the radio. The C-pillar cover where the LR seat belt comes out would have to be removed otherwise.

What are you changing out the amp with? And what type of antenna are you putting in?

I am unhappy with the AM reception in particular in my W210.

I am putting in a little stubby one I got from Pepboys..
It is only about an inch high, but I have to drill thru the rear
fender.. I am having problem getting a good ground.. I might
have to run another wire to the frame from the antenna.
I will post some pictures when I am done.

You know the MSRP on the factory amp is like $900 and the headunit is like $1400 or something? hahaha, it's pretty absurd actually...

Do you really think it will sound better with a new amp? I'd think you'd need to replace the speakers as well, and maybe even the head unit...

Looking forward to the pics...

Ah, sweet... Ya, I am going to leave mine stock. I just listen to AM radio in my benz when I commute. I may get a cd changer, but I don't really listen to music in it so it would just be to have one if I ever road trip in it. I save my music listening for the acura and jag, mainly the acura...
